Were actually now getting round to finishing a lot of half started projects that me / brant lingered on far too long and never sorted - next up is the Fat Chancer an 853 steel classic completely retro and unsuitable for the modern age bike that no one will like but me , maybe complete with odyseey steering stabiliser , odyseey mohawk grips , roko lever skins , hite rite , aerator seatpost , girvan stem , fast feather skewers , and the infamous and much loved odyseey straddle rods brakes - splendid.

Feck me. That's it, pass the rifle, I'm going to Doncaster to shoot the tw**ts. See you all in 15-20 years.

How dare they mention Fat in the same breath as the shite they pedal? They are not worthy to lick the rust from a Fat's seat tube.

Or maybe just give it a rest with all the on one baiting.

I feel i should personally apologise to you for having such a shit bike.

Is it any wonder? Last month I bought a set of Magura Forks from them which started knocking and pissing oil out after 20 minutes. After 3 ignored emails and being put on hold for 22 minutes they told me to send them back to Magura, not them. Problem is they did not send a receipt with the fork and wont send me another one. Magura UK say they won't repair without a receipt and its unlikely that Magura in Germany would honour the warranty because Planet X/ On One sold them to far below RRP upsetting the dealers. So I now have to pay for them repairing elsewhere.

Crap company, crap customer service.

To add the name of one of the classic builders of the past onto one of their bikes is an insult that every retro fan should be offended by wether a Fat fan or not- What next Mountain Goaty, Clockworky??

Would be nice to see a proper modern RetroBike though, FAT chancer is as good a name as any to start with.

A company has to honour it's warranty no matter what the cost to buy them was. Of course the first year is with where you bought them from even if they try and palm you off to the main company. It's up to them to sort it out unfortunately.

Dr S, I assume you didn't pay cash, so you should have a receipt in other forms. Sounds more like you need to deal with Planet X and Trading Standards than anything else.

So in the pace thread where you said your hatred wasn't personal, in fact it is.

I can understand why you are upset but i do take offence at you calling my bike all the time.

Try trading standards.

Its not personal, based on recent experience i think the company has bad customer service, sadly its not only them but many companies today (btw, my experience with the forks was last month, I have said for years that I think the frames are crap having owned one in the past).

The number of people who nod sagely when they see a fantastic vintage bike on here and then turn the page and talk of On Ones being the best thing since sliced bread is just crazy. They are what they are, cheap, slung together with scaffold pipe- how can people rave about that?? Its just a bike shaped object, one rung up from Halfords. The hype and fanboy obsession with such low end product is just bizzare. This is RetroBike, its becoming more like the Brant Richards/ On One Fan Club every day.

I'm pissed off today because they decide to market another cheap frame with a name that many of us here hold dear- if you are not offended by this devaluation of everything we love here on RetroBike then I guess you don't share the same passion as me for the history of our sport. Imagine riding the trails one summer afternoon on a beautifully restored FAT Titanium and having some pimply yoof slur 'Nice On One mate' at you?
