He is? Cool, I can tell him personally that the On-One Inbred I owned was very bad. Heavy, piss poor at climbing compared to other frames and just not that nice.

Sorry to hear that. Heavy is a relative thing, and I think for a frame at that price point, the Inbred's are a pretty fair weight.

'Piss poor at climbing' can be traced to many things. Heavy tyres, forks that are too long, shit rider. Hard to say there.

Not that nice? I don't ever recall them being sold as artwork.

Anyhow. I've moved on. Hope you have.

I was using the rigid forks from on One. What excuse is price point anyway? And not sold as artwork? What were you selling then as, because they were lousy frames.
And rider? Are you kidding?? My Reynolds 'thing' climbed hills better. And yes i've moved on by not recommending the brand to anyone.

Fair play to the designer for coming on here and explaining the design and indeed imho for naming the frame after its inspiration (a brave thing to do, as most designers would just pass this off as their own work). Is it possible that you could post up some pics of the frame for us to see, as since the picture was removed from the link I must admit i've been commenting on a frame i've seen little of.

Although I must admit to not being an especially big On-One fan, I think they are good things in building bikes that are a little bit different to other bikes on the market (a complaint that many of us here state as a reason for moving away from modern bikes, as we they are all a much of a muchness with nothing stand out like the bikes we used to own bitd).

I think the Taiwanese built thing needs its own thread, but I couldn't give a toss where a frame was built tbh. Look at the Merlin (UK) frames, both their Rock Lobster and Malt frames are amazing handling award winners and they are built in Taiwan (Genesis too for that matter). Yes some of these Taiwanese factories produce crap for Halfords, but they also produce some very respectable and good quality frames for some high end manufacturers too. I'd forget the 'sweat shop' image too, these are state of the art facilities that are super efficient with high quality control.

Just my 2p's worth, but I feel retrobike should be the last place for bike snobbery.

Anyone save a copy of the page? Sadly it's no longer in google's cache.

@Sinnett177 - think you have your wires crossed slightly. Shedfire was I believe the original on one designer. He did not claim to have a hand in the 'fat chancer'. This is the work of 'steveo the desinger' according to the On One website. No relation to Steve-O from Jackass I'm sure. On one have yet to comment on this thread.

@LGF - no inbred fanboy then? Seems a few have axes to grind. For what it's worth a lad I ride with has an On One (amongst other more exotic machinery) and he is far quicker than I up and downhill on his On One. Doesn't seem much wrong with his Inbred...

@Graham1975 - if you're going to troll you must try harder
