I've just registered my new company with Companies House.

We're called In-One and I'm sure people will be excited by our main model. It's a single speed called the Unbred.

And best of all it will be cheaper than an Apollo from Halfords.

I can't imagine anyone would object to that. Would they?

Hang on a minute guys - I just want to go and get a cup of tea and some bikkies

Hob nobs ?

What next The on-one cockwork ?

I'll tell you what though - all this agitation over a bloody name

Personally, I don't give a monkey's f*ck what they call it - if it ever exists it'll either ride well or it won't. End of story, at least as far as I'm concerned, and no, I've never owned (or even ridden) an On-One but quite a few of my mates have and seem to reckon that they're good riding bikes.

And as far as the "sweat-shop manufactured" bit that someone raised earlier goes - I don't think that's true somehow. They're made in a factory in Taiwan, like pretty much every bike frame and component that you buy now (and your televisions, cameras, iPods, computers, whatever). In fact I don't think that I've ever owned a frame that wasn't made in Taiwan and I can't say that it's ever bothered me.

It's just like if you go to Spain or Greece and see all these crappy hire bikes with names like "Jumpertrek" or "Feld". I don't see anyone getting all up-in-arms about that (and why would they be arsed?).

ANDY R im with you all the way, it doesnt matter what its called why would it like you say who cares if it rides well
Everything thats made in the far east is made to the speck the company wants it made to, if they want a top quality product made it will be made top quality, if they want summet cheap and cheerfull thats exactly how it will be made, if it was made here in the UK most people would not be able to afford a bike!!

why did you get your Ragley as On-One do a cheaper frame with exactly the same frame dimensions??? I was told this by a couple of friends, one that has an On-One, one that has a Ragley.

Unfortunately, that's bollocks.

Well, as I said in my post, it was a On-One owning friend that told me that and his Ragley owning work mate (also my friend, both forum members) that confirmed it. I have better things to do with my time then compare specs of frames I have no interest in and will never buy.

Please don't call me a know it all Graham as I far from know it all and do not pretend that I do. :o

It's about all old bikes, right? Not just ones made by tiny companies in very small numbers in one particular country in the world?

Correct, not just ones made by tiny companies in very small numbers. There is a greater number of people who like Saracens or Raleighs or GT's etc If your asking me what I think the point of the site is it is the appreciation of the history and heritage of 'old bikes' this along with a good bit of nostalgia and being able to own the things you once coveted is the point. Most of the bikes no matter what end of the price range they come from have fans here irrespective of how they ride.
