OK - Selling Lots? Group it together

Common sense should work here.

both senick and mapeter have a load of posts, some duplicates and whatnot.
Most of them could be lumped together and they just in my opinion make it harder to see what they are selling and keep track.

If there is a lot in a specific trend, say 15 different types of tyres, then by all means put it in a single post on it own, with pics etc. rather than you general I have all this for sale thread.
That does make it easier. But pics also do not need to be larger than about 600 wide, we do not all use 1680x1050 22" widescreen + LCD's

Many latops are stuck at much lower resolutions. But then I ignore the posts if I cannot see the picture properly ;)

Maybe a resize/thumbnail function could be added to the phpBB code.

what if it's not practical to photograph all your stuff together, it only allows you to post 3 or 4 pictures per post, bit of a pain. If you do group photos, then the stuff that has sold is still pictured!

No idea how this can be resolved, but i also get fed up of checking the same seller's single post in case it may have been updated, as everytime someone replies it is bumped!

If people could sell one thing at a time, then one post per item would work, but who would wait until one thing sells, and then advertise another?

the attachment limit can be over come by the use of photobucket hosting (or similar) however I appreciate many people dont use/know how to use this. Bit of a shame as it offers a lot of useful automated functions that will help people posting pictures.

Auto resizes based on your settings to different resolutions
Auto resizes file sizes so you dont have to worry about your 900megapixle camera producing file sizes that are too large to add as attachments to posts.
Allows basic edditing of images
Allows you to use the photo anywhere you like, not just on the retrobike forums.
Allows you to do funky slideshows (click image below)

All in all a useful tool that people could find very handy for this and other websites.

Wise words from from Mr Jerky you want to listen up!!

I use to find it a proper pain in the arse posting photos until I started using photobucket... its soooooooo simple and sorts everything for you 8)

OK

Key thing is common sense here. Problem is its not common

There is the gallery on this site you can upload pics to and link from for sale ads no problem.

Final word - if Jezz can do multiple items in a post, anyone can  :D

Locking this.
