Gump is right. People need to combine for sale threads.

We haven't made this a rule because rules suck (man) and we don't want to 'over mod' things. However if people keep on posting up multiple threadswe'll have to set a limit.

I agree.

People who add 5 or 6 items throughout the day :x You cant just "discover" bits during the day FFS!

Do everyone a favour and group it together, photo it and stick it up in 1 nice post

I don't see a problem with the way things are, if you start to try and enforce rules with things like this you will start to question things like "BUMP" oh and "BUMP" again.

The For Sale thread on Retorbike is very successful so why make changes like this. They're guys on here that have been doing this sort of thing for ages.

An advert should be viewed as the sale of a single/group of item(s) and not an advert from a particular seller.

To be honest the thing that slightly gets to me is the posting of the same item from the same seller multiple times, but then I'm not complaining about that as it is the way it is.

I have posted several seperate posts recently because how do I advertise my many seperate items and appeal to the majority with a single post title " Joe Bloggs BIG sale" which ends up being many pages long - not helpful to a buyer that's having a quick browse.

I personally prefer to see subject titles advertising single items so I can filter whats of interest and whats not. But then maybe what we discussing is the limitations of a for sale forum that now has massive worldwide appeal!!!!

I don't sell as much as others do on here, but I would say that if rules start to become overwhelming it's not so much fun then and people may not browse as much as they do.

Hey what do I know I'm not a mod and I don't have their stat's! Just my opinion and not ment to offend! :)

I do love this forum!!

From a Retrobike lover!!

Today was the first time I've sold anything on here. Ended up doing 3 seperate ads as I didn't find it very easy using the system - especially trying to insert photos where I wanted them.

I do find ads with hundreds of items on them very confusing as to whats been sold, whose got dibs on what, price changes etc.

This is an issue that most forums with a classifieds section have.

In my opinion, it´s just far more simple for me to update the first post of my sale thread, and have a link on my signature for both me and potential buyers to get to it, than keep creating new sale topics that´s hard for me to search and update, and make my parts get lost all over the sale section.
I do understand and agree with Rawheelz, some topics make buyers search more difficult, but i think it´s just a question of keeping the first post updated instead of keep adding parts for sale on page 5, than page 7, than page 13, etc....
Of course this might force me to "bump" the thread sometimes, but doing that i´m bringing back to top just one list of parts for sale, and not a dozen of threads that push other sellers to page 56, as Jerky said.
