went to the shop a few months ago and my colleague wanted a bag of nuts.
50 ish grammes of kp's finest for 65p or 200g of heritage cheapies for 80.

i bought both and we did a taste test. exactly the same.

just bought another pack of the cheepies and they are horrible and plasticky.

what makes nuts good or bad.

Don't know but I tend to eat quite a lot of peanuts and have found quite a variety in quality . Asda seems to be good . If you want to add a bit of tang throw in some chilli powder or similar and shake it in .

Nobbys are very pleasant.

Althoughhhhh, whilst on holiday and waiting for lunch to arrive at the local eatery I treated myself to some warm nuts from the bar and they were lovely.

i often find undercooked pistachios arent so good although you dont get many of them in a pack
my favourite all time nuts are 'nic-nacs' from germany
theyre like nobbys nut but cheese flavour mmmm
they have the hard crunchy coating
if anyone in germany wants to send me some, id be happy to pay :)

also, aldi were doing some chilli coated nuts (like nobbys again) which were pretty good and they did/do :? a paprika flavour too i think
dont like the bacon ones though :(

never been tempted by warm juts.

where was holiday?

Warm nuts are the future! Never tried them before, but the week before hols K unfortunately had to go to Belize for a week due to a family bereavement. Anyway, at the wake she tried some warm peanuts and loved them. So, on our hols the was a hot nut dispenser on the bar so I thought 'hmm, why not!'.

Hols was at Caistor, couple of miles from Gt Yarmouth.

As for my normal nut of choice, KP for home consumption and Nobbys for pub consumption if they stock them.

Might throw a curve ball and suggest cashew nuts as being a worthy alternate to the traditional salted nut.

They do some nuts with habanero chilli in them! Lovely if you like spicy food.

Anyone ever try roasted chestnuts (not horse chestnuts - they're poisonous)? They're lovely too!
