Not so retro pump question (polite opinions invited)

After being let down by Specialized mini pumps one time too many, I have decided to invest in a good and tiny (oxymoron?) pump.

Quite like the Topeak silly small and light model that's carbon wrapped and wverything.

Anyone had any experience of these?

Or any other recommendations for small (fit in a jersey pocket - small) pumps?

Thank you fellow RB'ers.

I use gas!

Gas canisters and small adaptor from LBS - never fails! Will check brand but wasn't expensive.

is there a mini pump yet thats designed to last? blackburn 1 seems ok so far, but <touch wood> havent had need to use it much... yet..

of course they won't last like a bigger one. True of most things isn't it, but the spesh ones i've had just die before they've been worn in. Broken two blackburns too. Superhuman strength doesn't help but still.

LIke this one. It's all carbony.

I had always sworn by gas, but on the last 2 occasions I have needed to use it:
1) the adapter refused to puncture the end of the gas cannister so it didnt work (long walk home)
2) the adapter leaked so most of the gas didnt enter the tube

But, having said that, most of the time they are fine.

Pump wise, I have always sworn by Mt Zefal for both track pumps and mini pumps.

problem with gas is I tend to faff with tyre pressures only slightly less than i faff with clothing / outfit changes, so i need a pump.

I've always used blackburn airstiks, my first one is still going and is about 14yrs old!
I was impressed by my mates Topeak mtn morph. I haven't seen the one you've selected so can't comment, sorry :?
