Newbie Retro Question - Orange E2?

Got plenty of modern MTBs but a newbie to retro bikes (was a BMX kid not a MTBer!)

Been offered an Orange E2...when were these built, and anyone got any pic links etc?

Worth how much in average to poor condition (from the looks of the grainy photo I 've got!)?

Thanks folks!

Cant remember the year of the E2 ?, 94-95 maybe ?, someone else will be along with more knowledge than me

Is it the whole bike or just the frame ?, Average to poor condition anything from £50 to £150 for the frame depending on the buyer and the seller, the same or a bit more for the whole bike.

For pics you will find a few E2's and other E's in here

Or do a search.

It's a whole bike - appears to be missing a brake, and has Marzocchis fitted. Couldn't find any E2s on that thread?

IF it's an E2 then it will be the first one I've ever seen. There's no mention of an E2 in any of the catalogues I've got scans of. As far as I know it went straight from the Elite to the E3.
That's not to say it's not an E2 they may have made them for a short period between the Elite & E3, but are you sure it's not an Evo 2 which is a completely different frame?

Ask him for the frame number. The first numbers give you the month and year of manufacture. A date may shed more light on things, but there's no substitute for some good photos.

Here's the (rubbish) pic - does it look like anything familiar to anyone?

OK - had a quick look at it. Definately E2 on the frame (two pics of logo attached), and the frame number is A3103197. A rare beast? Seems to have decent kit on for it's age, but not sure how much I should be paying without going over the top....any ideas?

Sounds interesting, I'd certainly love to see some photos. It's an October 93 frame going by the serial number which fits in with the dates of the Elite and E3 nicely and it does certainly seem to have characteristics which suggest it's a 'missing link' between the two. (drop outs from the Elite but wishbone like the E3)
You could have a reasonably rare beasty there.
