And some of the new components have started to arrive, it's like Christmas :xmas-big-grin: :xmas-big-grin:

Now I just need to get my buddy to spray the frame, I'm thinking Nando Grey, as a contrast for the black components, and I've ordered some Cannondale Frame Stickers, two sets so I'll decide which ones look best when they arrive, I'll get him to put them in place after he's done the base coat and before he applies the lacquer.

Now just waiting for the wheels and hubs (Shimano T610) and new LX derailleurs and Crank Arms.

Then she'll look like new (Hopefully).

Well today I dropped off my frame to a buddy of mine who works at a spray shop, they gave my hard work the once over and agreed that it was up to their standard of preparation for painting.

Now it's just a waiting game until it's completed, I decided on Nardo Gray, and Audi Colour, with the white cannondale decals positioned as original.

In the mean time, the parts continue to arrive and once back I'm guessing a day (I'm slow and methodical) to reassemble should see it back on the road, I would call it a retro restoration, but I've used the Deore T610 components and a few XT items to bring it up to date, but still looking original.

Now I've received most of the parts including the new wheels and tyres, new bottom bracket and front cogs, XT Flat Pedals (They initially sent the wrong items). Think the only parts outstanding to arrive is the new blue headshok spring and the elastometer, which I had to order from the USA, so hopefully they'll be arriving early next week.

In the meantime here's so pics of the latest deliveries.

Re:

I’m hoping so, looking forward to getting the frame back from the spray shop, told them to take as long as it takes, I want a show finish.

Decision to paint it grey was a hard decision, but everyone has red, yellow, blue...... wanted something different and with white Cannondale decals and black components, it’ll be something different.

Will have assembly pics up soon hopefully.

Thanks for taking the time to follow the thread.

Re: Update

Sorry for lack of updates, frame still away at spray shop and don’t want to rush them.

Spent the weekend refurbishing some of the components I’ll be reusing in the build (Of which there’s very few), Rocky Mountain Bars, Cannondale Stem, which after a degrease and some satin finish paint, have come up looking like new.

Hopefully the frame and forks should be back sometime next week then I can start reassembly which is the most satisfying part of a restoration project.

I did a dry build prior to sending away the frame, so hopefully things will go smoothly. The only original parts will be the frame, DD60 Forks, Stem and Bars. Everything else including frame bolts/Allen key fastenings are new.

Probably spent way more than the bike will ever be worth, but hey I had to do something during lockdown.
