New to the Forum, need help identifying a bike.

So I can't post any links yet, since I have not posted five times. However, perhaps I can make a reverse - request.

I have what I believe to be a flat black British Eagle BOSS (or possibly a Tech, from Canada.)

Does anyone have a close up of the welding and dropouts of a BOSS, so I could compare the two? I have seen someone on this forum with a BOSS, but the picture does not provide close detail of the rear dropout and derailleur hanger.

To round out the description, the bike is a full XTR (1st generation), except the shifters which broke and were replaced with Suntour shifters. The wheels are junk now, but the bike was originally equipped with Aerospokes for a 26 inch MTB.

Once I accumulate my five posts, I will be happy to share photos of my bike.

better in the mtb chat section, but BOSS was a cheap generic Alu frame. damn fat tubes though, iirc fatter than the 'dales at the time.
Normally came bright yellow ?

this rings a bell, they did do a yellow frame bso but im sure they did a high end alu boss bike.

The bike is a matt black, aluminum. No decals. Full generation 1 xtr, syncros stem, it came with aerospoke wheels (those were sold before i got the bike), so everything leads to this being a 1993 bike. It looks like a BOSS, except for there is no welded rear brake bridge.

the first britsih eagle boss was indeed yellow with big black boss stickers but can with dx,iirc it appeared in 92,they had a small team who raced these and i think they upgraded to xtr in 93,quit good bikes bitd,the bags thought so to.id love one still

The elevated rear stays have the look of an Alpinestars about them. :roll:
