That hand glaze can you use it on aluminium I thought it was for paint it fill in scratches etc do you have to spray little bits of water with it which one do you use the 3m is expensive any other products tips for paint and aluminium mate

Seat stay is how it was. Head tube is after 1 minute of rubbing.

G10 by Farecla. Can use water with it. If using a mop with compound on paint go fairly slow. Have to be honest I have no idea with anodising. I would imagine anodising is a very very thin layer. Not like lacquer on cars which is quite thick (thicker than the paint).

Oh blimey. Bet I have minimal in mine now I’ve put the seat for my hight. What size seatpost (diameter) was they ?. I will purchase a long one if mines to short.

FYI d8mok is Mr Zaskar. What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing etc. When he says 'many many' he means scary numbers! This chap is a bona fide expert. Remarkably detailed knowledge of the model.

I’d want way more inserted on any frame to be honest.

As my GT's are 16" frames too, I buy seatposts of 350 or 400mm long for them fit well beyond the seatpost junction, as I have my seat up quite a bit.

Been looking at the 400s. 27.2 don’t fit my Zaskar though. Think it’s 27mm

Hi folks. New here (1st post actually).

I’ve acquired my dads old GT Zaskar LE.

Think he purchased the frame in 1998. He became ill about 8 years after purchasing it. Hasn’t been ridden for 17 years.

16” frame. All Shimano Lx. Pace carbon forks. Mavic X517 sup rims built by Dave Hinde. Brooks titanium saddle.

Going to strip it. Clean and polish the frame. New sticker set. Might put drop bars on if I can figure out what gears work with what best road/ gravel levers.

Will probably have lots of questions to ask . Sorry in advance.

My '98 Tempest has the same decals too and I love the colours!

It's weird that the Zaskar Le should have a smaller diameter seatpost than my '98 Tempest which is 27.2!
