I may be the only one but i prefer bare aluminium to have a matt finish.
I’ve had many many Zaskars mainly purchased from old guys who “only rode to the shops” and I’ve had 3/4 cracked 98 ones.
It was a weak spot when they moved to the integrated seat clamp design unfortunately.
Make sure you have lots of seat post inserted
Oh blimey. Bet I have minimal in mine now I’ve put the seat for my hight. What size seatpost (diameter) was they ?. I will purchase a long one if mines to short.
Seat post is about an inch below the top tube. Would it need to be past the triple triangle weld ?. Or is that enough.
I’m exactly 5ft 10They are a 27.2.
Usually Zaskars are pretty robust. But 98 is the most common with cracks out of all the years. However that doesn’t mean that they are all bad. Just best to be slightly more careful
Frame is a 16 inch so would suit someone upto 5.10 at a max.
I’m exactly 5ft 10. I used to have a Zaskar le of my own as well (a 1994 model) that was a 16” as well.
I’ve always preferred a slightly small frame. Probably not now I’m oldTechnically you’d be a 18 size but with a long post you will be ok.
That hand glaze can you use it on aluminium I thought it was for paint it fill in scratches etc do you have to spray little bits of water with it which one do you use the 3m is expensive any other products tips for paint and aluminium mateThanks for the advice mate. I will wash it tomorrow and start working on it. Tyres are inflated now and all good. Tried some car hand glaze on it (used to valet and mop cars). And it was like glass almost instantly.
It’s 3m. Hand glaze is more of a polish really. If I was using 3G then yeh, use water.
