New car/bike bus advice

I have an 2001 BMW 320 Diesel that's about to be for sale - in Southampton, England

Drop me a note if you want details. I loved it and wish I had it out here!

Mondeos are expensive to fix and they go wrong, often

Steering racks

rear callipers

steering pumps

Octavias are not Passats and are not as well built, Superbs are Passats and are better sound insulated.

I can help with just about any issue you would get with a Passat estate TDI 130.

I would love an Audi A6 estate though.

'new' Passats are good value but have irritating auto handbrake

G Wagon!

Cool as F 8) 8) 8)

You would get a very tidy one for your £5-7 budget.

I looked at a G280 for a customer yesterday, 20 years old, 138,000 on the clock but still drove like new. Zero rust, trim all holding up nicely, no nasty noises or oil leaks, full history etc.....it was just £2,600. Imagine what three times that will buy you. I'm glad he bought it because if he didn't I would have.

Keep em coming :D

The van/camper bus is one I wanted for quite a while and the wife even agreed. I read a post though where someone said you use it for its intended purpose 6-7 times ayear and you have yo live with it the rest of the time. Kinda rung true to me, thus the reason for looking at estates. Quite happy tenting it at the mo if need be.

Mondeo estate was on the radar as I like fords, I don't like vauxhall so much but would have looked at the vectra if it was good value. Like the sound of the Audi A6, seem to get alot for your money. VW and Skoda leave me cold for some reason :? As a cyclist I couldn't buy a Volvo either!

G wagon was on the shopping list ages ago but doesn't really hit the luxury button :o Needs to be boring and sensible I'm afraid.

Ayrshire to Southampton would be a wee bit of a trek for a 320 I'm afraid!

7k would net you a cracking S-class, a nice S320 CDI

you can get at least 4 bodies in the boot.

I was about to say S Class Merc as well. Or Lexus?

Actually, I keep going towards estates but a big boot would be just as good I suppose, I'd mostly carry the bikes on a tow bar mounted carrier.
