New acquisition today - 1992 GT Pantera AL

great find. that looks cool, and yeah definate keep the paint job and decals etc....they are in good nick. rigid fork or suspension? some old mag 21 would be cool on the front end of that!

Great condition too!
It's good to see a nice big photo of the 'flat-end-capped-exception-to-the-usual-Zaskar-rule' 92 Pantera.

Does that make sense...?

Looking forward to seeing it built up. Will you be going for the period and catalogue spec correct Suntour groupset?

No. I've made a deliberate choice to go for the "bits I already have and other bits I can trade, scam and con out of people just to make a bike up" build spec.

It'll take a while but I still want it to look good.
So black GT forks, black headset, stem and bars and post (what size is it anyway, 27.0mm?) and silver everything else.

Need wheels, mechs and shifters, bars, brake levers, seat, post.

The BB is proving a nightmare to remove. It's a bit mashed up already which doesn't help. It'll have to be partly cut out. :-(

Mine was the same. Then a mate of mine put the BB tool on and had a piece that went over the BB tool and screwed onto the BB axle so the tool couldn't come off. That got it out!

Good buy, thank for pix this confirms my forks are off a Pantera.

I could have offered you exactly the right ones for this but I have just spent the evening paint-stripping them !

I have some later aheadset GT forks I'm going to put on anyway. I want black forks on as I think it'll look better.
He did say he'd sold the forks.
Nice chap. :-)

I'm sure it'll look great. Pix don't do justice to the colour.
I was amazed how bright the forks where after 20 years. They
would have touched up without too much hassle but I was after some
cheap GT forks to respray (not fussed that they're threaded).
