Mystery frame seeking ID

Retro Newbie
Hi folks, newbie poster here…

I saved this 19.5” frame from a friend’s garden last week. It was tired, but the delicate seat stay and fact it had a disc mount (albeit a primitive one) drew me in.
As I started taking off the (white) paint, some clues arose:

- ritchey drop outs (brazed)
- braze ons and tig joins
- seat stay is brazed (cut & modified?)
- faint sign of past brake lugs evident
- BB serial no: of B/P 9701 3006 / 403 PT1

Despite all the above, I’m still where I started. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this one!

Cheers, Bill

Saracen. Kili something, team or pro. Wishbone rear stays give it away. Depending on the model, it's either range or Reynolds 853.

Any evidence of what colour it was as it may help identify it unless someone can tell from the tubing, welds etc!

I had one of these, tange version:

It was too small and needed some welding. Always loved that rear wishbone and would love one in my size one day.

I think the 853 version was available in turquoise which would be my dream, fave colour, fave wishbone.

Thank you Ishaw, you’re exactly right. I had thought that wishbone would’ve been a giveaway - to someone in the know - but didn’t expect such a quick turnaround! I like this place…

From comparing mine against the catalogue, the cable guides indicate that it is indeed a Kili Team and therefore Tange Prestige.

The next thing would be to uncover whether the disc conversion is a backyard jobby or a factory custom for a riders specification (probably the former from looking at it).

Colour wise it’s a toss up between green, turquoise and orange. Perhaps I’ll post some progress photos in here as we go…
