My first project - Scruffy Orange Clockwork

That does look quite big for a 17".... the headtube gives it away.

Just got the tape measure out –
B\B to top tube 17”
B/B to top of seat tube 19”

Confused now

See if cherrybomb has a link to his to compare... If it is the blue one that went on ebay recently you should be able to see by the headtube. Otherwise have a look at my P7, it is a bit older but is a 17" and the geometry hasn't changed that much?

Very nice P7 mate!

Yes now almost certain its a 19" which is a bit of a bonus as might just fit me - Slime green singlespeed project here we come :D

Awesome, the slime green lives... :D

I'm sure it will look good with a bit of t-cut 'n' elbow grease! Just make sure you post some pictures of the finished item!

That's a 19".

The 17" frame is only 15.5" C to C. The most obvious difference between the two is the length of the head tube.

This is my 17" frame before it went for refinishing.

I've not had it back yet, I sent it to a place in Oxford a week last Tuesday and it took them a week.
My mum died unexpectedly on the Friday though so I'm back up in Shropshire. Not sure when I'll be picking it up to be honest.

Oh: and I'd be interested in those F8s for my E4 if you do get rid.

It is definitely a 19, and I think it's the 1998 model when the Clockwork came back to replace the C16R. IMO it should be a criminal offence to have a slime green Clockwork resprayed, but then women are a law unto themselves I suppose. The F7 forks are the most fun rigids I've ever ridden - I would certainly recommend keeping them in case of a change of mind down the line.

Respraying a slime green Clockwork, I don't know, utter sacrilege, bloody women, tuh! Mutter, mutter, mutter.

green

love that green i like cycles a bit ratty looking with sexy old parts on oh yes !!! use them everyday people ...this site is the best

What single speed kits do you guys recommend? Have been looking at the DMR, but would like something that looks a little less modern.

Cheers
Matt

I'm in the same position as you, just about to embark on a single speed project with a kula. I hear that the surly singleator is quite good..
