Mountain Goat Whiskeytown Racer full suspension

Not one of the finer full suspension efforts but there were quite a few mediocre designs back in the early 1990's. MBA wrote a pretty scathing review of the bike at the time. Hopefully this one is new enough for Retrobike :D

Flexy ProFlex. Flexier than normal. MegaFlex?!?

Pretty though. There were certainly a lot of bird (cage) brained full suspension bikes back in the day. But you know, people's goals for the final bikes were so much different that they are today. Back then the goal was really just to take the edge off the cross country experience...shit like the Cannondale EST and Flex-Stems and junk like that. They were more fitness trail bikes than MTBs by today's standards. Today, cross country bikes are 4"ers all across the board. Apples to oranges comparison, in my view. :D

Lovely looking bike. Somehow looks really dainty and whippy. I miss it.

The rear end was surprisingly stiff and the bearings/bushing were spot on. Even the actual action was really good bearing in mind it was a simple elastomer stack.

Problem when riding it was mainly due to the pogo.

It pogo's reallllllllllllly badly. So much that it feels unrideable. Every up stroke on the pedal felt like the back wheel was loose. Very wierd.
