Ok, putting my weight weenies frame out for sale. It'll be on ebay later in the week but I thought I'd offer it to one of you guys first. Its an 18" ControlTech Carbon frame(1340g). I've built it up into a 17lbs road trainer but I have just bought a Specialized Epic for the missus and need funds to complete the build. This is for the frame, headset and BB bearings.
Ok,so a little history. I saw this on Weight Weenies and didn't even know ControlTech even made frames. Before I bought it I wrote to ControlTech and asked them about it, they told me they had two built to showcase their parts at various european bike shows and it seems this was left with the Italian importer. When I got it it had been used as a hardtail XC racer, but I have only ever used it for not more than 200miles on road only. Its mint, not marks or nasty scratches.
It will come with an integrated FSA headset, Hope seatpost collar and BB bearings. Now, the BB is pressed in bearings that fit all modern cranks that normally use an external BB. Its designed for 80mm suspension forks, and it has both disc and V brake mounts.
I am initially selling the frame only, cos if I cant get what I paid for it I'll keep it. If I manage to sell it all the other components will go so anything else on it can also be bought., but I need to sell the frame first. I want £250 ideally and that is what I paid for it - plus you'll get the headset and BB. It really is unique, I've never seen another one. Nice show piece in its high gloss carbon finish but even better if it actually got ridden!
