but it's very easy to criticize whilst sitting in an armchair.
The commentators, presenters (1 a former team principal, another an ex-F1 driver), other driver involved and stewards weren't sitting in armchairs. ;)

Well, the stewards may be but they still felt it was bad enough to require investigation.. 8)

I don't like Schumacher but do acknowledge his achievement and abilities (pre-retirement/comeback - which I reckon was a big ol' faux par on his part ;) )

Always been a case of sour grapes with MS really. Still think the sport now is s**, supercross, Moto GP, FMX all more interesting to watch. Like Premiership football which is also bollox the rot has set in as the money aspect has taken over.

I think if you saw the move, you may appreciate where the problem lies ;)
Sorry, I don't mean that to sound patronising but I can't find a better smilie than a winky one... :?

Can't disagree about the sport stuff though.. or that there's sour grapes between certain parties and MS..

I luckily went out just as the race started :D

If he has done wrong he should put his hands up and admit it for sure rather than denying responsibity for his actions.

Seems to be more action off the track these days which is a shame :(

MS was a bad boy but somethings never change ... I for one is glad he is back and would love to see him winning again.

And while people take great joy in happy slapping MS don't remember too many people saying wot a plonker Vettel was when he pulled across into his team m8

As for boring races ???? You are looking at cars that have every ounce of speed wrung out of them wot do you think you would see ?

I am a big MS fan, right from his early days.

But the move was as stupid as it was dangerous.

I think a lot of the drivers take the safety of the cars for granted. I loved the days when Ken Tyrell could build a championship winner in a surrey shed, but unfortunately those 'glory' days also meant the passing of a lot of talented young chaps in their prime. :(

Problems with F1 for sure. I am a big fan of early 80's ETC, BMW 635's vs Jaguar XJ-S vs Rover SD1's. Great racing, but no one ever knew who won, and it became very messy off track.

F1 is tightly controlled and has a brilliant 'race managment' system. Descisions are come to early and are stuck to. Many sports could learn from F1 on this point. However this gives it an aritificial feel.

An artificial feel is an understatement!

RB is a turd but that move by Schumacher was dangerous. I somehow don't feel MS is really that bothered about the grid penalty at the next race.

What's 10 places when you are in a midfield car anyway?

He should be made to drive the next race in his undies with no belts, helmet or HANS device. That might concentrate his mind towards driving a little safer.

I can only recommend the excellent Sniff petrols take -

Schumacher ‘sorry’
by Sniff on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Michael Schumacher has said he is ‘sorry’ for strafing machine gun fire across the drivers’ press conference at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

‘On reflection my actions were too hard,’ said Schumacher on his website. ‘By spraying the entire room with countless rounds of intense gun fire I didn’t want to endanger anyone. If any of the other drivers had this feeling then I am sorry, it was not my intention to cause them to leap out of windows in a blind, terrified panic.’

The seven-time world champion initially denied that he had done anything wrong by hosing down a room of over 30 people using a series of rapidly discharging hand held weapons.

‘Immediately after the race I was still in the heat of it all,’ Schumacher’s statement continued. ‘But after I looked at the amount of furniture that had been cleaved clean in two by my intense bursts of hot lead, I have to say the authorities were correct to intervene.’

After analysing the way in which Schumacher inexplicably hammered at a crowded space with relentless machine gun fire, F1 stewards have decided to penalise the German driver by insisting that he leaves all belt fed weaponary at home for the next grand prix
