I have never been a fan.....always thought he was a dirty driver (talented and fast though :D )
Interested to see if any fervent MS fans are still 'flying his flag' in light of this years driving....and I'm not being critical of his pace, that's understandable, but frankly based on todays race...I'm a tad concerned for his mental state, and the safety of other drivers.

i dont know what he thought would happen by trying to force someone ot drive into the wall,

What he did at yesterdays GP was despicable and bloody dangerous.

And then to have a pop at RB (who I'm not a fan of at all) was just salt in the wounds.

Under investigation? He should take some severe penalties for that sort of driving....

It got headlines if nothing else. Otherwise another dull race.

I watched the 1970 German GP at Hockenheim on DVD afterwards. Rindt and Ickx dueling wheel to wheel for 30 laps without a dirty move in sight. In those days a move like Schumacher's would have killed someone. Rindt came out on top by six tenths of a second btw. Sadly the win would give him his last world championship points as he perished 2 weeks later. Four races later he bacame the sports only posthumous World Champion.

When you consider the past and the drivers that were lost- drivers who raced and died for the sport and glory, not million dollar salaries, it makes yesterdays actions all the more sickening.
In terms of races won and driving ability Schumacher will always be one of the best. But he will never be one of the greats.

Do you think there's been some decent (read : better) races this year than recent years??

Hazy memory but I stopped watching a couple of years back because it was all a bit processional.. last year I remember improved a little but this year I've sort of enjoyed more..

Not really. There has been a few good races in the last two decades but it's rare. For me Grand Prix died with Gilles Villeneuve. Better racing is to be had in sportscar racing such as Le Mans and American Le Mans Series races- another humdinger at Lime Rock last week.

Always been a fan of MS especially when he took the field apart back in the early 90s driving for Benneton and in the wet. Didn't see what he did but it's very easy to criticize whilst sitting in an armchair.

I don't think it matters that his 'comeback' hasn't set the world alight, it'll still be a very, very long time before anyone matches or beats his record so he's up there as one of the best. IMO after seeing footage from F1 back in the early 90s I know why I've lost interest...boring as f**k, full of moaners and primadonnas and just just no actual racing/overtaking etc.

The commentators, presenters (1 a former team principal, another an ex-F1 driver), other driver involved and stewards weren't sitting in armchairs. ;)

Well, the stewards may be but they still felt it was bad enough to require investigation.. 8)

I don't like Schumacher but do acknowledge his achievement and abilities (pre-retirement/comeback - which I reckon was a big ol' faux par on his part ;) )
