Just in case you missed it

That's quite unlikely :D I actually love the green and cream (not a fan of red but you've clearly gone to great pains to ensure there's at least something one doesn't like about it!)... does the gloss paint not just peel off the first time it encounters an errant twig or hostile glare though?

An idea where I can get a fork gaiter? Other than that. Bit of a basket case. Stx rc brakes ok gripshifters toast. No loss there then. Bounces ok wheels remarkably true. Tyres ok seatpost stuck. Squeeze the saddle and water comes out.

Cables and chain, thumbies or other shifters and good to go. Anybody got any 7x3?

Gaiter you might get from Qwerty cycles. What ever you do though when reinstalling the forks, after removing them to change gaiter, follow this method to get them in properly without buggering them up (like i did - resulting in a £150 service)

1 - Buy headset bearings - Qwerty sell them for £25
2 - DO NOT USE COPPERSLIP GREASE
3 - Put front wheel in forks
4 - Put bottom bearing onto forks
5 - Put forks into frame
6 - Put top bearing over fork steerer
7 - Install any other bits before stem
8 - Put stem on but don't tighten
9 - Use a mallet to tap the stem down while moving the stem round in circles

Once headset bearings and forks seated properly tighten everything up as normal :)

Took Barney and Me 30-40 minutes to work out how to do this on my Flash without buggering it again :)

So this must be a fairly loose press fit? The bearing feel awful at present. Are they serviceable by me? or will it just explode when I take it apart?.

The BB is as smooth as smooth can be amazing, so not touching that. mechs also fine. I may just wrap a bit of neoprene or something around the forks and hold it with cable ties. This will be another minimum cost build. If the headset bearings are unable to be re greased????

The bearings will need to be replaced. And Cannondale in their infinate wisdom used a proprietary size. I tried to find some other ones. But all I could find were the Qwerty cycles. Even if you use a reducer I think you still need the Cannondale bearings in the frame. It's a tight fit to get them in. You couldn't even get a lion sleeping in there.

You diiiiid.

I may just clean it up and live with it.

Maybe lock it out with a length of scaffolding pole, cut lengthways and clamped over the needle races.
