Metalic Powder Coat

I've got a scruffy frame that really needs sorting out. I like the idea of powder coating for it's tough finish, but looking around UK powder coaters it seems that most only offer boring solid colours in matt or gloss.

Whereas over in the US they're doing stuff like this:

You can see loads more here: http://www.prismaticpowders.com/gallery/

I'd love to have my frame a metalic lime green, like the three seater above, but it doesn't seem that any UK powder coaters are doing this sort of thing.

I had my Karakoram Elite frame powdercoated a metallic blue, which has a kind of colour shift effect to it, so it looks darker towards the edges.

Not quite the same, but worth talking to Triple S who did mine. They're not cheap, but the finish is excellent.

I haven't tried LSN yet:

but I'm intending to take my next frame there. They seem to have done some interesting metallics and the user slmracing had a frame and forks done there that looked good.

I have an alloy that our powder coated did as a sample. It is metallic lime green and Lols pretty cool. We have another in Orange too.

If people are doing fugly things like that lime green triplet then I hope metallic powdercoating never takes off over here.

I am intrigued by the safety feature using two rows of children as a crumple zone. :?

LOL

I bet it's a hoot to ride solo as well, but it was the colour I liked, not the 3 seat feature. :D

Must be truly terrifying - the combination of that long steering linkage and front tyre washout.
My tandems are a blast without the stoker - you can hang the back out round corners... 8)

Saw some motorbike parts done in this colour at Triple S and thought it was ace. Still trying to decide what frame I should buy to get done in this colour 8)

just picked up another frame in metallic red from LSN yesterday... this is the colour matched stem they did previously.
