bushpig":3qupp3kr said:Not to belabor the point, but I am not making offers on your bike. It is a nice bike, and if the build was cleaned up a bit could be really top-shelf. I won't be surprised if you sell your bike at some point for your asking price. I have a proto-type Merlin and an early Merlin and that is good enough for me.
One could infer an offer in that first quote, so the seller is not completely off base. Besides, some are known for poopooing great bikes in order to keep the price down, (not saying this is you), but it's known to have happened...so I don't have a problem with the seller's tone.
To the seller, good luck with your sale- it's a very cool bike, and kudos to you for sticking by your price.
That said, are you considering trades/ partial trades?![]()
Thank you for your poignant observations. And it has been worse than a little poo-pooing from time-to-time. There were some phony Merlin E-Stay posts that apparently were designed to drive my price down, followed by a couple of wise guys badgering me for the same price. No chance ... http://members.cox.net/csanta/reedtalo.mp3 Some of the remarks here remind me of a guy, state-side, who tried to purchase my Merlin. He even called me long-distance personally. When I didn't yield to his demands, he said in writing by email, "Good luck selling your piece of shit bike." So funny!
I'm not as active as once was when I regularly rode trails here:

Therefore, the trade would have to be something I could use considering my current activity level.
haha, sour grapes on his part...funny stuff. What is your current level of activity? I'll see what I can do
