Yes if it's a future problem then I might consider this, but hopefully the copper grease as recommended by both Agostosan and my brother, together with the reemed seat tube, all should now be ok on this one, fingers crossed.
If not then it won't matter much anymore anyway, once that I am completely happy I have it at the correct height. (The seatpost on my old Marin has been stuck for many years!)
