I was at the tip yesterday and there is a fella who’s always there with a big Luton van that takes donations of items deemed too good to skip.
I’m not entirely sure what happens with this stuff but assume it is sold on with part of the proceeds going to charity?
I always have a little nosey of what bikes he has whilst I empty my recycling bag.
Normally it’s junk Carrera’s and the like but yesterday something caught my eye. Even though I have no room or time for another project and SWMBO was in the car, I obviously asked how much he would take for it. Fortunately (unfortunately) he advised it wasn’t for sale as he has a guy that tidies them up
Anyway… the bike looked pretty tidy and was a light blue colour. I’d never heard of the manufacturer ‘Mercian’. It appeared to be full Deore LX with some tidy looking silver handlebars and odd looking bar ends.
Going off the cantis I’d say it was early to mid 90’s?
I’ve Googled Mercian but only seem to find road bikes?
