Mavic Wheels - Idiots Guide

As mentioned before, it's hard to think that somehow Mavic could integrate rim width (internal / external) and another number
to denote quality and not to expect problems. Getting copyright for numbers is also nightmare, no wonder we ended up with Cosmos,
Crossmax, Crossride, Deemax and what not eventually!

I think some of the differing rim numbers were the same rim, just for manufacturers use only. Ie not for public sale.

Also your all missing the star that is the 26" ma40. My personal favourite and absolute b...rd to get the tyres on/ off.

The road rims were the same........how one rim and one Michelin tyre could break three unbreakable tyre levers was beyond comprehension.

Being French and all, you would of thought Mavic and Michelin would have been in bed together and over-come any tolerance mismatch
for the sake of a good time.

Had the same with Michelin Hi-Country tyres on Mavic rims.Tightanium!🤬Gave the tyres away in the end, couldn't face the finger wrestling.Surprised the rims didn't get damaged in the process.Maybe that's what the two companies planned?😏

Just skimmed through this thread and only recognise the MA40!

26" Mavic rims = MA40MB, M4 Rando, M5 Rando (never seen one), M6, M7 surely? CD hard grey anodized, or silver.

(Oxygen is the essence of air; Energie is the heart of the struggle ...)

Agreed a road rim, but in 600(?)/650(b?)/700c sizes, note 650 is 26" but not MTB 26"

As for TT B1 no idea, sounds TimeTrial-ish or Triple Trekking, I dunno making it up like Mavics naming, which is French based anyway,
If anyone is board then have fun searching
