That rust on the cluster should eventually just wear off again ;)

 Sure it will, to be fair it looks terrible but has very little wear on it, time will tell when I pop a new chain on it ...... could be a Ooooooooh or arghhhhhhh moment

Re:

Sun is out and so am I.

Then a quick tcut on the frame, not that itll get rid of the years of use scratches

Re:

Paint went ok until I got a rougue splatter so had to wait for it to dry and give it a rub down again then another coat, once dried the tange fork decals applied, just so you know the ones from velodecals are good but slightly larger than the originals. chainset cleaned up and reassembled, the 89 cindercone was the donor for chainrings and shifters and upon removing the rings I noticed they were steel..... shame but the only option I have at the moment.

Re:

forgot to take intermediate photos on the build so I can tell you that new brake blocks were fitted, canti studs greased and canti's fitted Quick I played it safe with the bottom bracket, a new tange sealed unit was used. old outers used throughout and new inner cables, 10 mins setup time and bobs yer uncle.

ride out shows no slip in the used drive but a wierd jump, had a closer look and the chain is missing 2 rollers so I will have to address that tomorrow, I also didnt tighten the saddle up enough which was annoying.

apart from that it was all good

Re:

So this morning I had to go get saturday papers and some essentials for my elderly neighbour.

Rather than the usual thorn workhorse I decided to get the marin out, I took off the chain and fitted the two missing rollers, straightened the front derailleur and tightened up the seat clamp.
