There is probably enough alloy in that repair to make a whole new frame

I am going to be repairing mine soon,but am using a press fit stainless steel collar......solid as a rock mate

The plan is to drill a small hole at the top of the crack,then find a stainless collar to fit,heat it up and drop irton,then allow it to cool......jobs a goodun ...............maybe

That's what I thought, however.....on my 19" frame the weld between toptube and headtube goes pretty much to the top of the headtube so leaves no room for a collar.

I guess different size frames have more headtube to play with?

I think mine is a bit close as well....I will work something out though

You could use that headtube on a DH rig and be assured that it'll be strong enough! :shock: Talk about belt and braces! I'm sure it could have been done in a more sympathetic manner. :cry:
