Manatou III fork with liquid elastomers

Used this method on my 1's, 2's and 4's so far and they've all come up nice and shiney...

The stanchions on my 1's were slightly corroded inside so I've got an appropriately sized cyclindrical griding wheel that fits on a long extention for my electric drill; whizz it down the inside of the stanchion to remove the worst of it then finish off with a a similar sized wire brush - job done.

thanks guys - although I don't know about the "fairy" liquid. Squeezing those fairies is pretty tricky and always ends in trouble...

I have tested several different solvents myself and what I found to truly work is a Acrylic Solvent. More specifically, Model Master Acryl Cleaner Nettoyant Acryl, used for cleaning Model Master Acryl paint and painting tools.

True, but you don't have to worry about inhaling Fairy Liquid fumes...

more to the point ,is there a way to stop this happening
i had some manitou elastomers in a bag in me shed and they turned into
a gloop resembling summt out a haribo bag

so whats the best way to store elastomers ?

Somewhere cool (NOT the fridge!)and dark; heat and ultra-violet light are what does for them...

ok, the boiling water and wash-up liquid did the trick - not exactly pouring out, more a shift in consistency to melted mozerela cheese from chewing gum.

Anyway, all the internal parts are now free of old urethane and ready for new elastomers.
