Sure many are aware of the auction watch section we have here > http://www.retrobike.co.uk/auctiondeux although it's not quite as popular as it was back in the day.

I need to rewrite the part of this section which shows the ebay results since the underlying application is being retired. Whilst I'm at it considering rewriting the lot. Main issue is how to present the grid / matrix of possible searches. Very much open to suggestions on this one!

Of course the job is harder than I'd thought. It's going to come in over time and over budget.

First beta is up for people to look at > http://www.retrobike.co.uk/auctiondeux/

Needs a lot of work on presentation (so please don't get too excited about that) but the core of the fuctionality is there. The new version shows more results, more quickly and hopefully more neatly. It should also elminiate / minimise duplication. Do intend the final version to be geotargetted.

If you can break it let me know.

Also interest in suggestion for formatting the main 'table' of possible searches.

Just had a quick look and it all seems good, I'll spend a bit longer messing with it in the morning :)

One thing that would really help is currently when you type into the search box and click search the search term is deleted from the search box - it would be really nice to keep it in as often I will repeatedly search for similar phrases and it's easier just to make small amendments rather than type the whole phrase in.

Other than that, good as it always was.

Chris - thanks
Pete - thanks for the feedback. Have updated the code so the search term is shown in the search box.

Would it be possible to make searching title and description easier?

Maybe a tick box next to the text box that you type the search in?

It still has the big flaw of showing from other countries.
E.g I just tapped the MAG21 and it shows results, the UK all are from USA though.
Pointless having countries if this happens, one of the reasons I stopped using it, the other being it a bugger on a small screen, fine on a 10" tablet though.
Restrict them to that country only.
Not tested it on my 4.5" phone but it doesn't look like it'll be any better, will test though.

@IBOC - thanks
@CTK - will look into it, would think I can add this feature
@Ben - It is a feature rather than a flaw, have set the search to include items available from international sellers. Maybe I can add a dropdown to ensure only national results are included if this is desired. Can probably set this on a cookie but suspect that'll be of limited use to you.
