Madly pedantic spot the difference thread... Goat content

-Farmer Johns rather than his nephews
-DX post instead of XT
-All black slimline pedals rather than black and silver XT beartraps
-Big sweep bars rather than near straight ones
-Schrader valves rather than presta
-Standard yoke hanger rather than a Shimano circular yoke on front brake
-All silver sram(?) chain rather than black and silver sedis

How am I doing? Nice bike by the way!

mate i wasnt knocking the stem, every rider needs a different stem, height and lengths, just did also spot the difference,

can you be a little clearer for the idiots...(me)

differences with the frame and fork, or your component build choices..?

pete_mcc has the right idea, I think he just hit the lead :D

I'll add another one:

I think your grips look like Grab-on MTN-2 rather than MTN-1, and unless they are period they will certainly be of a lower density (am I getting anal now..)

Clue:

The parts that remained the same, are far less than the parts that are now on it.

Remember the donor bike!

Can I say groupset then?

Or should I stick to the lizard skin being removed from the chainstay??

you get 1/2 for the lizardskin, but I have a new one to fit. as for the groupset, that spoils the fun, or lack of surely! it came from a few places. even the small bits. :D

Points have been awarded for, but not only:

Stem: original stem was unknown, the one fitted is now a 'goat stem.
Chain: yes, its a SRAM 6 speed now.
Pedals: points awarded but a few notes: originals not on the bike now, I have some LX on it in the pics, but have the wider beartraps M730's.
Brake hanger: yes, due to change of stem.
Seatpost: yes, I am looking for an Xt one, the DX fitted is very NOS, very nice.

There's more wear on the rear RM20 rim, but that could just be a time and use thing rather than a different rim ;)
