where did you get those lovely OS maps? are they scans or available (free) online somewhere?

looking to revisits some local trails from the past and canny remember how to get into them, taken the loft apart looking for my local maps but can't find them

OS is an option and 1:50000 is the smallest free scale available, I screen grab and stitch them to make larger areas.
