MacRetro chat and rides thread

I got the kids as morv is working- how about going up to jimi's glennifer braes- good work out on those hills.

I could do a run local very early in the morning if that is any use? 8am

sorry to hear that Dr S I have had issues with both my wrists and they are slow healers :(

you still got that silver bar jimi that I gave you? If you are not needing it I could find it a home

The silver bar is on the E3 at the moment, but i do have a pair of black Control Tech's (with cool Orange stickers) or the Answer carbon jobbie's off the Manitou ?, or if you are really after the silver ones i could fit the Answers to the E3.

Need to sort out those LX cranks, the bomber project is moving full steam ahead.

Riding week nights is out for me due to my stinking job :x , start early in the morning and just cant predict when i'll finish, even when i finish at a decent time i probably wont be arsed

get a picture up Jimi.

Here's a couple of pics of it mocked up on the GT wheels for now, i'll be using the same Halo combat/SAS rims and DMR tyres but not the disc brakes.

Probably an insult to genuine Klunkers (like DR-S's and the superb example in the chat section) calling it a Klunker, so i'm calling it a bomber type thing from now on, shonky title for now but may give it a nice paint job during the winter if it turns out ok, probably a metalic bronze and cream Breezer style job.

Paint is bad ass satin black with all the cable stops and canti boss's ground off (may remove the fork ones too), forks are just sanded down and laquered for now, will probably go for higher rise bars, low rise Renthals on it for now, recon it'll look and feel better with medium risers .

Velo's genuine 50's Brooks seat sets it right off i think.

Drum brake hubs, coaster on the rear, single 18T sprocket, probably run a 32 ring on the front as i've a feeling this bike will be a wee bit heavier than the E3

Na, mention Cruiser and i think of this,

a bike for mincing about up and down a sea front like Salcoats :) , the beast i'm building is for hurtling bown steep hills scaring myself sh*tless  , bomber sounds better.

Will look into the trials rims, was only going to get Halos as i like the ones i have on the GT, had them seven years and not a bit of bother with them, they seem pretty indestructable.

Will you grind off the fork canti mounts too?

Yep, will wait and see how the drum works, though initial impressions just working it by hand are good, feels like it'll be plenty powerfull, drawback will probably be fade with extended use on long downhills though.

Frame would look very clean with no bosses at all on it though 8)

After the talk of road bikes I thought I'd post mine. Not retro or owt(maybe the fixed) but here they are:

Entry level Allez, its been a great bike for the money and a joy to ride.

Race bike thats hardly moved for donkeys, in the middle of going from 9 to 10 speed. Was going to sell it but may start racing again if I can find some time to train again.
