Not sure about Acetone fjm. Its a product ive used in big quantities stripping the cellulose lacquer off 50's furniture. I was taught professionally so i would hope as no gloves other than thin surgeons gloves(usually none)
Acetone evaporates quickly so we were taught for instance stripping a large panel, to lay a towel over it and thoroughly soak it. This prevents the acetone from vaporizing and allows it to work on the cellulose.

Didn't PROPER Nitromors do the job D/T ? Remember ? when it used to be strong stuff . Used to be good on French polish BITD . My first job was as a polisher .

Acetone(propanone) is in nail varnish remover, better ban the stuff.

Think that's what my classmates used to dip my pencils in , and watch me start to chew them ! Still remember that horrid taste :P May have been nail varnish though

What was that stuff my mum used to paint on my nails to stop me biting them? Lead or something?
