Unless they mean the pig ugly M750's ?

I fitted a set of these today, but took them straight off as they were so spongey. I have m739 V levers which work fine with my modern deore v brakes. Are they supposed to feel spongey due to the moving pads? Or have I missed something when setting them up?

Also one has the pin missing that secures it to the fork. Looking at the others it seems the pin might be replaceable. Are they? Should I be able to get hold of a pin from somewhere?

Depends if the 'spongy' is flex in the system somwhere, then it's not good.
Else it could just be increased power due to less movement, which is a good thing. Nowt wrong with a slight spongy feel, it's the lever and brake doing the work and not you.

No there is no flex in the system. But beacuse the linkages move, the brake levers just keep on going, very similar to when you have v brakes with non v levers.

I take it the linkages are meant to move so you can generate more power to the blocks, but this does feel extremely spongey.

Has anyone else experienced this with an m739 set up?

...time passes and flies by... over a year in fact

Well finally attempted to take one apart today.

- Flip end covers of the pad holder bit off, push bar out.
- With 8mm Allen key in boss part, use 14mm cone spanner to take of end nut and so popping off all the linkage part.
- use 17mm spanner (will need cone spanner to put back together) to take everything apart.
Little ball bearings in plastic cage cleaned up, metal washers turned around to reduce the from them being to tight an 'indexed'
cleaned up, check bearings (lots seem ok didn't check size)
Lubed with a thin grease and tightened back up.
Need 17mm cone spanner to do it properly so that's it for now. (17mm/14mm nuts act like a threaded headset nuts)
But much smoother and no notches/indexing :D
