My pal got blown up along with a few police officers and a paramedic.....while rescuing an old guy tonight, i didn't get called to it, but i was sat here on call just down the road as it happened.

It's pot luck, hate these jobs.

shit myself every time someone goes bang and sigh with relief when its miles away.

we had house pop round the corner last year. there was a stream of blue vans driving in and out of the estate with someone from the hse taking plate numbers.

turned out the lady hated the smell of her gas leak from the cooker that she lit a scented candle to cover it. :shock:

I see a bad one every year at least, too common for my liking.

this time the old guy had been disconnecting his cooker but didn't turn the main valve off, cops and my mate arrived and he was collapsed, got him up and tried to get him out when it exploded.

I must admit 9 out 10 house explosions are from human error, very little from faulty gear or corrosion etc.
