LTS rear linkage question

I thought whilst we are amongst a GT feeding frenzy at the moment, I would pose this question.
On the later style trunion mount, does the position of the 'travel chip' (at least that is what I think it is called), have any bearing on the amount of rear wheel travel. You can set them with the mounting bolt forward or rearward, and even thought the difference would be lucky to be half an inch, It may make a difference. Is there a right way or wrong way? The catalogue show the high end models with the bolt rearwards, and the lesser models forward. I could always remove the shock spring, and measure travel in each position, but its just easier to ask in hope that someone has this knowledge stored away!
Picture below to illustrate the apparatus in question.

It does indeed effect the travel.

If my memory serves me correctly it was claimed to be as much as an inch.

As for which orientation is longer travel I'm afraid I forget.

I don't know if its the same for the older LTS frames, but for the DS models GT quote 5" with the clips towards the rear, and 4" with the clips towards the front.

They called the two postions DH and XC modes.

Gentlemen, thankyou. This tallies up with my recollection of how it is. I did recall being able to select between 4 or 5 inches, but wasn't sure if the small adjustment of the chip was what did it.
Also, the catalogue shows the high-end DH models with the adjustment to the rear, for maximun travel, which supports the theory.
Now to fabricate a new rear triangle with reasonable tyre clearance......

If you just look at the lever, you can see that the rearward position travels farther, as it is on a longer lever at that point and thus has a greater arc of travel.
