Looking for a vintage steel frame (57cm) 1970's onwards

Retro Newbie
I've recently damaged the 1970's Peugeot frame I've had for the last 10 years. I'm looking for a replacement. Not too bothered on brand, as long as it's in fairly decent nick.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Ideally would like to keep below £400.00.

For that much, I would think that "the world's your lobster".
Provided, as you say, nothing exotic required. I would even expect a reasonably equipped Reynolds 531 main tube framed bike could be found on eBay under that if no one on here can help you out. Just don't be suckered by the "rare bike" adverts. There are loads of reasonable bikes and sellers if you search a while and don't be rushed.
Best of luck in the hunt.

Easily doable I'd say

I've sold a couple of good quality 531 framed, complete, fully restored and well equipped bikes recently for around that (one a little less and one a little more) so depending on where you are I would expect you to have absolutely no trouble with that.

What sort of thing and size are you looking for as I may be able to help?

Edit

Just seen 57cm so yes drop me a DM I've got a couple of things that may suit.
