Look 381 internal cables

I've just picked up a look 381 frame. Finish is a bit tatty so i'm thinking of giving it a tarty custom paint job (no less than it deserves) but I'm wondering about the plastic cable guides. Should I tape them off for sanding and spraying or remove them with all the risks of removing and reinstalling them? (I.e. They might break coming out). I've seen replacements but I don't know how much of a faff they can be to remove and refit.

Any advice?

Depends if the frame finisher blasts the frame prior to painting If yes they will be scrap if not removed not had dealings with LOOK but the frames I have, have just been a push fit & came out with a "wiggle"
