This is most probably a 1996 Kula frame painted like a Ku, the frame number is H5J04276.

It's in really nice condition apart from an area of chain-suck. The main decals are missing but there’s no dents, cracks or nastiness. I've also noticed that there's a threaded insert for the rear mech.
Lovely frame but it's too big for me so it’s up for sale. Includes the original Kona seat collar.

Seat tube CT – 480mm/19”
Seat tube CC – 410mm/16”
Actual top tube CC – 575mm/22.5”

Weighs a gnats hair over 3.5 pounds.

£80 plus £30 Postage to Europe (from Sweden) The rest of the world pm me for a quote. Payment by paypal ‘gift’ please. SOLD

nice frame - if mousemat did not take it - I am interested :)

regarding age of frame - me guess its made during late 95 (H5...) for the 96 Kona season.

Also the twin cable routing on the downtube indicates it as a pre 97 frame.

btw. are their 2 cable stops on the toptube ? If so, then this frame is prepared to accept Maguras rim brakes

Too big for me unfortunately, but may I just say that I think it's almost certain that this is a 1996 Kula with custom paint. The serial number is consistent with that, and excludes it from being a Ku. The weight is also consistent with it being a Kula, but above all the aluminium hardtail 1996 Konas below the Kula didn't have Magura guides.

You can still run Vs, either by using a full-length outer or by bodging the guides into stops. I think it would be enhanced if it had 96 Kula decals, and then it would make quite a nice bike.
