Sizing varied on these konas.. its all about the reach
And not twanging the plums on top tube..
Any chance of that and I'm getting rid.

Right fellas, Firstly the guy selling bike lives in Summerseat ( not far from Rammy)..that bit is for the local retrobikers.
The 1993 kona explosif is an 18 inch from t to t..
Not a 19 inch.
I have exactly 2.5 cm clearance.. thanks to Mr Murray for sloping top tube.
Fits perfect.. like a glove..
Minor superficial rust.. every nut and bolt is affected by this also Inc. Mechs, shifters etc. Etc.
spec is as follows:
18 inch frame.!! Tange ultimate ultrastrong..
Project 2 triple butted forks
Wheelset.. m732 xt front. M900 xtr rear on mavic m231 rims.. hardly worn.
Xt m732 front mech
Xtr m900 rear mech.
Diacompe 987 cantis front and rear.
Ritchey logic levers.
Vp pedals I think.. need bearings greasing.. noise grinds ( like scratching a chalk board)when pedalling.
Velocity stem. Markedly different from the bike next to it ( 1992 explosif pro)which is wider at front.. the pro also has a double butted titanium kona bar.. see pics.
Impact headset...very noisy.
Sugino (team pro? ) crank..or a Mighty.
Normal 165g kona bar. Race lite stem.
Xtr m900 rear skewer, m732 front skewer.
Rsp bar ends.. quite nice..
Seat not original..Sr selle royal.
Rides like an absolute dream.. lighter than the 1992 explosif pro..suntour xcd hubs may be a factor. I have not sorted out the v brakes on explosif pro to be able to ride it yet.
Both have fluted down tubes.
Down tube is wider on 1993 explosif.
Quick glance, geometry appears the same.
Seat stays are slimmer on the 1993 explosif cf 1992 pro.
Seat tube is also wider on the 1993.
I'm absolutely delighted with it..
I thank the Almighty for providing me with these jewels, I'm not worthy..they have both fallen into my hands in the past month or so. Both are 18 inch. Perfect fit.
For the not so princely sum of £275 for the 1993..

In any event.. I'm very pleased
Couldn't ask for anything more..I would've struggled with a 19 inch..
I'll start a thread for these two at some point.. wd40/ gt85/ acf time..
The 1993 is an awesome ride, defo not harsh..1992 no comment at present time.
I have a 1993 lava dome.. which is precise, direct, fly by wire steering.. telepathic almost..the 1993 is in a parallel universe..light years ahead.

Sure that's not an 19, looks like an 19 please be an 19 great acquisition though and for a extremely good price, look forward to seeing the build thread on them both.
