Started on the cranks, a set of graphite ones, but with some damage.

So stripped the paint off with some paint stripper and wire wool, thand starter on the 80 grit and a fine file to remove the surface blemishes and scratches.....a bit to go yet 😱

Also been working on the pedals which I got from 'Once A Hero' a few weeks back.
Strip down, clean up the aluminium cages by filing out the big scratches then emery and wet and dry, same with the bodies.
Not gone too far with them, no need for mirror finish.
End caps are plastic with a chrome plating, it comes off eventually

Frame now done and clear lacquered. Its come out Ok, some minor blooming between the lacquer and the green splatter - bit too heavy on first lacquer coat
Headset in - some minor fettling to the headset lock nut - had to remove the shoulder of the bottom of it as the steer tube was too short for thh stack height
Cantilevers cleaned up and bolted on
Seat clamp fitted - NOS Campag one - very shiny
Rear mech trail fit
Bars/stem trial fit

To do, broadly
trim front mech band to fit down tube, think the paint has made it too big!
await 8 speed cassette and tyres
have another play with the bullet shifters
cable up brakes
Source a BB !!!!!!
Finish polishing the chainset

Absolutely love this. I did a fire mountain splatter last year but it’s more dribbled on than flecks. This looks great and campag makes it even more unique
