Kona 1996 brochure ?

Anthony, Serial number is 6463 I think. Yes in Wellington, beautiful wet ride to work today lots of mud out of Ohariu Valley ! Tks for the input, would like to know all I can about my new ride.

Thats 3 of us in wellington then. We are planning on a retroride soon if you are keen??

Cool bike by the way - I was tempted by it as I thought it was a bargain

Yes keen for a ride once I get her up and running ... need to sort out a seat post issue, as in stuck. Thinking of a single speed commuter but them hills are big!

I only asked you the frame number because it's the first thing to think about when you're dealing with a repainted bike, but I'm now sure that your paint is original and the bike is a Kilauea SE, and obviously the first one I've ever seen. Incidentally I was wrong about the colour - I wondered what Plum Blue could mean, because I've never seen a plum that colour, but it actually says Plumb Blue, as in 'plumb crazy', and that I do understand, as it's just about as blue as blue gets! It's clearly a Marzocchi colour, so maybe that's what they called it.

Aside from the Z2s, the original spec was as here:

The frame is made of Columbus Cyber, TT – 28.6 x .7/.4/.7, DT – 31.8 x .8/.5/.8, ST 28.6 x 1.3/.6/.9, actual weight 4.2 for my size 17, so c4.35 for your 18.

Tks Anthony all fits perfectly. Looking at that list its all original except the stem, seat and Scratch rear tire, still sniffs up front after 11 years  can't tell with spokes ... out of my league. Cheers
