he only beat cooper because the ref stopped the round for a bad cut...he would have lost against him...
I doubt it - he beat greater fighters, and greater challenges.
Bruno had a big punch, and gave Tyson pause for thought - but unless he was inexplicably lucky, was never going to beat him.
Ali (well Clay, then) beat Liston easily - in fact made him look like a chump, when EVERYBODY (probably Clay / Ali too) thought Ali would get destroyed.
In their 2nd fight (conveniently ignoring the conspiracy theories) Ali made him look totally ineffectual.
People who dismiss Clay / Ali in light of somebody like Tyson miss out on Tyson's easy early career - he was largely untested in his prime, when he looked so good. And largely untested after being in prison for a while. And they also miss out on the fact that Clay / Ali took on some fighters most never thought he had an even remote chance of beating, yet prevailed.

he could show boat though...great boxer...no greats anymore...
He was more than show-boat and loud mouth, though.
And I'm far from his biggest fan. He treated Frazier appallingly, even accepting mind-games.

bring back marvellous marvin
Hagler was another great. I don't think he ever got over his fight / travesty with Sugar Ray Leonard. Pretty much why he retired, wasn't it?
