Indeed - all things considered Roy's hastily-assembled England squad put up more of a fight than the highly-rated German one. Still, benefit of hindsight and all that....

Corking performance from the Italians, although for all the hype that surrounds Balotelli, Pirlo seems to be the real keystone of it all - an excellent distributor of the ball which is something the England side is lacking at times in the post-Beckham era. However, I don't rate Marchisio very highly, but that's probably 'cause I think those Aviotek replacement cassette sprockets of his are obscenely overpriced. I'll get me coat. :oops:
