This thread is a charitable idea I've had to help our very own Rojo raise some funds for a campaign very close to his heart.
Jon (aka Rojo) and his wife are supporting their local school in raising funds for kids defibrillators.
Initially this is a local campaign for the footie team but one they all hope will be rolled out and raise awareness throughout the region and the whole of the UK.
Children's Defibrillators enable many young people, like their own son, to enjoy normal everyday sporting activities in relative safety.
Having myself witnessed a couple of related incidents at youth rugby tournaments I can only applaud and support their efforts.
Jon is going to write a little follow up piece to these posts explaining things in a little more detail and links to the campaign website.
The idea is that we each contribute (or donate) a piece of bike equipment to the for sale thread here
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=203770
The idea is that these "bike bits" are offered for sale at a reasonable price by the donor and the proceeds, upon sale, go entirely to Jon's campaign (there's a paypal donate button on the LEFT of the web-link)
it doesn't have to be big, clever or expensive but any of those bits that you may have no use for but may raise a bob or two would be welcomed.
....better than just being stuck in the back of the drawer in the man cave heh?
cheers all
And
and thanks to John and RB for their support
