Panaracer Fire XC would be an option - with blue sidewall

Got a few saddle options, mainly based on matching the frame colours. Will save the Flite for best....

The other Selle Italia was a £10 ebay job. Seems to have been a cheaper option back in the day, might even be a BMX saddle, not sure.

Surprised to see it come in lighter than the Flite...! The decals are a bit lairy, may try and scrub them off...

UPDATE. Final saddle option with the Bontrager. Looks the part, but heavier. Reviews suggest it may be nice and comfy so will give it a try....

That’s actually a really nice saddle - the decals aren’t bad at all and won’t see them when perched!
I’m surprised it’s lighter than a Flite Ti !

The red Flite does look really good on this - would be interesting to see side by side Pictures

I like the yellow bar ends under clear grips
I did the same on a Dynatech I recently sold -Odi assault grips over polished bars - combined with silver bar ends makes everything look silver! Ed (who bought the bike) did a much better job as he removed the Sachs grip shifters and replaced them with silver polished with black XT thumbies giving a cleaner uniform silver look

Yeah, was surprised by the saddle weight. I’ll swap them around and post a few pics... believe it or not, I’ve got another saddle on the way, nice WTB one with yellow and red detail...

I’ve always been a gripshift fan, like you say, it’s a shame that all the shifter and cover grip colours that were around back in the day are so thin on the ground..

These are Sachs power grip extreme - ESP SRT800 or some such would’ve been a better option as they take the ODI shifter covers - these Assaults came with matching clear grip shift covers - and the SRT were shimano compatible! So something to consider.

Another saddle on the way? Is it the WTB SST98 ? That is a very nice saddle
Man - yellow saddle or red - I wouldn’t ever leave this beauty locked up outside!!

It’s an FS+10 race saddle, quite a quirky shape, bit like Flite Alpes with cutaway sides. *** I meant Bontrager, not sure where WTB came from!***

I hear you on the bike lock... despite spending much less on this build than others, I think it’ll still be a bit colourful to attract the thieves...

Re:

Loving this build, my 2p’s worth is to leave it on the gum wall tyres - I think blue tyres might be just a little too much..
oh and if you want another saddle option.. I’m selling this one..
All the best..

I think you're right about the tyres...I've got blackwall semislicks that will be on most days, will save the Psychos for the muddy days....

Done... will post up with other saddle and wheel options, but this was the intended low cost rebuild....
