I'm just about to buy a K2 Razorback frame, probably 2000ish in ok condition, spare shock and relatively new rear triangle. I intend to single speed it and use it to grind through the mud this winter...

Is it a classic or a duffer...

Is it Retro???

What do you guys think?

jango had one of these with white bro forks and pretty much the best kit and it rode like a dream very light too and they where pretty much high end players so the quality of the frame should be good but if you like it and the price is right go for it mate

Yep, I had one and it is a licensed Turner design, cracking little bike, like an amp only beefier 8) .................but FFS don't single speed it :?

and, like anything without the 'god's link' look out for cracks around the pivots on the seatstay!

k2 razorback

from what i recall they seemed to have a fairly high failure rate and is one reason they stopped making them. this came from a k2 dealer.

The Turner Stinger and the first Razorbacks has the same pull shock which was developed for the Turner Stinger by Fox (which is where the licensing is), but the rear end is different in that the Turner is a Horst link bike where the K2 is not.

The Turner is a much nicer frame and rides better too.

There was a brand new K2 with a very noticeable crack in the headtube for sale in a shop near me a couple of years back. It was suitably priced but had no warning about the crack...
It was a shame, it looked really sweet, wonder if anyone bought it?

Here's some nice looking Stingers I found somewhere online, I'd love one myself (in blue please  )
