It's back (titanium repair content)...It's back again!

Re: Ooo...I just remembered. It's back (titanium repair content)

not technically able to comment on the drill holes, but if the quote included cleaning and it hasn't been cleaned then you definitely have something to talk to them about!

Re:

You don't think your happy? Its got holes in it!

Weld is neat though! It will look good after you've sent it back! The holes are aesthetically not great and surely strength is compromised?

Re:

I wouldn't be too worried about the holes, looks a neat job compared to the repair Vernon Barker did for me. I would be seeking advice from someone who knows more than me though...

Is it? I don't know. Anyway, I have mailed Enigma

Very neat, I'm guessing Enigma know what they're doing and the holes help prevent the old crack propagating. Be interested to hear their reply though.

Not cleaning is cheeky though, and I'd have thought it would be part of the inspection process...

As a Welder
Holes are not acceptable the proper repair procedure is to chase (grind or file) back the failed area of weld past the ends (this is to ensure a good clean penetration of the parent material) drill ends of split as done then re-weld the joint leaving no holes go back and ask them to fill the holes and clean the frame for which you have paid for.

Sound advice. I await Enigma's response

Re:

Quick reply

We can certainly weld over the two drill holes, I can only assume something got lost in translation here.
Regarding the finish, we seemed to have missed that altogether despite it being on the form, many apologies.
