Is there a modern MTB destin to be a retro classic ?

Wow! Some amazing, intruiging and downright bizarre stuff there! Groovys look 8) . Surely on the list of 'most wanted retrobike 2018'.
But what the hell is that thing with the butterfly 'spokes'? Definitely among the more ridiculous alongside things sublime.

Groovy Cycleworks frames are just too sexy. 8)

I also clocked this, don't know who built it but I just love this detailing.....

Personally I don't see rereleases of classic bikes as being modern or new lugged rigid frames for that matter.

I read the question as what modern (as in 2006-2008 inclusive) technology bikes will be collecters items in 10-15 years time, and thus bike like the Honda DH bike should be on that list (if they haven't all been crushed as planned by Honda).

I agree, bikes that today are conciously looking backward are not going to be iconic in 20 years time. Pace, Yeti, Klein et al were not looking over their shoulders whilst designing bikes.
In the mid '90's if you wanted a 'retro' bike there were a few select builders still using lugs and fillet brazing to create mountain bikes. They are collectable today sure but never forced the pace of progress.

The companies today that are doing something really different are those that will be the iconic bikes of tomorrow.

These guys for instance, small company, using up to the minuet technology, not availible here. A sure fire future collectable!
